Climate change is set to create millions of climate refugees

Conditions like increasing desertification, flooding, rising sea levels and more intense extreme weather events will force an estimated 150 million people from their homes in our lifetime.

Together with the Hay Festival Maldives, EJF has developed a collection of ideas from Heads of State, philosophers, explorers, scientists, lawyers, actors and experts in their field. These filmed discussions consider the potential cultural, emotional and physical impacts of forced migration, who should be responsible and what the potential options are for dealing with the impending human rights crisis.

With your support EJF plans to install a 330kw Enercon wind turbine in the UK which will generate clean, green renewable energy that we will sell back to the National Grid under the new 'fixed rate' tariff scheme. We will use the money generated to fund our international campaign to secure assistance and legal protection for those people made increasingly vulnerable as a result of our changing climate.
