Get involved and fundraise for us - helping us to help others

Whether you fancy running a marathon, dressing up in a bear costume, keeping quiet for a whole day or cycling across Scotland you can easily set up your own sponsored event to have fun and raise money at the same time.

Use the EJF sponsorship form and email all your friends and family who can pay you directly or donate online using Paypal. Remind your supporters to tick the "Gift Aid" box if they are a UK taxpayer - we can claim 28p back from the Inland Revenue for every £1 donated by taxpayers.

It's not all about organising a sponsored event though - there are other ways to raise money - here are a few more ideas:

Organise a fashion show, have a dress down day at work, clear out your loft or garage and take part in a car boot sale, make cakes to sell to colleagues, have a coffee morning, walk someone's dog for a small fee, organise a pub quiz, set up a swear box in the office.

Whether your fundraising idea is large or small please bear in mind:

  1. You need to publicise your event - do you want to involve the media or just keep it amongst colleagues, friends and family? Make sure you are able to spread the word.

  2. Plan your event - make sure you are prepared, whether that be training and fitness or the equipment and venue.

  3. Be safe - please don't attempt anything dangerous. Give yourself time and make sure you involve others for support and back-up. Be sure you are not breaking any health and safety laws and you do have adequate insurance.

  4. Check the date of your event - make sure it doesn't clash with a large event in the same area.

  5. Remember the law - all promotional material should contain the words "Environmental Justice Foundation Charitable Trust is a charity registered in England and Wales No. 1088128".

  6. Have fun - whatever you do please enjoy it and take lots of pictures. We would love to know how you get on and be kept in touch.

Thank you. Your contribution can go a long way to changing our world.
