To: CEO of H&M > via Carola Echarti-Ardehn, PA to the CEO

Dear Sir,

In light of growing awareness and concern of the continued use of State orchestrated, forced child labour in Uzbekistan’s cotton fields, a number of major retailers have made commitments to track and trace their cotton supply chain (clothing and home wares) to identify and eliminate Uzbek cotton from them until environmental and social abuses are resolved.

Do you know where your cotton comes from and have you taken the same action?

Please can you give me your unequivocal commitment that you do not buy any cotton from Uzbekistan and that none of the cotton you sell has been produced using forced child labour?

Without this commitment, directly from you, I can no longer agree to buy your products.

Yours sincerely,
